Report Hand-Off
Conferma hand-off reports can only be delivered via a secure file transfer connection. This can be either SFTP or FTPS. The difference between the two is the protocol and usually dictated by the choice of technology or operating system in use.
Conferma servers only operate FTPS for pulling files. This means that if you want to connect to the Conferma server and PULL down files, you have to use the FTPS protocol. If you would like Conferma to PUSH the file to your server, we can do this via FTPS or SFTP.
Some SFTP servers require an SSH key, which is a bit like a cryptographic password. This depends on your server setup. If they require this, then we will create one.
In all cases, the files must be encrypted using PGP encryption before being transferred. We cannot provide hand-off reports without this. To encrypt the files, we will require you to generate a PGP certificate and provide Conferma with the public key.
Both SSH Keys and PGP Certificates are cryptographic artifacts and are managed via the Conferma Key Management (KM) team. The KM team will be instructed to reach out to you directly and provide an SSH Key or request the PGP public key.
Conferma do not use or support VPN connections.
